Over The Hill. Yay or Nay?

On November 24th @ 4am I will be 51 yrs old. Does that make me over the hill once I pass age 50? Should one even care? I just figure I would ask all the properly woke people out there. They definitely have the correct answer. Wouldn't want the cancel culture to cancel me for not properly identifying myself.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Embrace it and enjoy it. The 50's are our new 30's. The only problem 9:30p id the new midnight.
But enjoy it. You have the adulting thing down. Let yourself be a kid again and have some fun.

I'm about to turn 51 too. And I'm not that far away. Maybe we could do a little research and find out. I suspect neither of us is over the hill.

Embrace the suck

What's wrong with being "over the hill"? It just means you get to see all the fun that's over that hill!.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

For some reason when women mention age, I think of the line about age from the movie Lonesome Dove. The older the violin the sweeter the music.

Anything worth doing is worth doing right

Nay.

By current actuarial tables, the average 54-year-old American woman has only rounded second base. There is still a long ways (30 years!) to go.

Given that you neither smoke nor drink, you have likely added several more years to your life expectancy. In sum, the odds remain ever in your favor.

That said, attitude is everything. Rather than rely upon anyone else's reckoning (*cancel culture* or not), assess your own state of play. Do you have aspirations and/or expectations? Long-term thinking is nurturing, sustaining and empowering.

As the Zen Master said, "You didn't come this far to only come this far."

I don't think you're "over the hill". In fact, I think you're rather cute. On the other hand, my perspective may be skewed because I'm five years older than you. If you're "over the hill", then so am I. Let's walk down the slope together.
