I was just thinking do deaf people talk to themselves out loud? Or if they're thinking about a conversation they had earlier do they visualize hand gestures? Just wondering.  |

Do they wake up from a nightmare screaming in sign language? Do they sign the alphabet when they belch? If one becomes a werewolf, how would they howl? Funny listing. No hate mail please.

No...but they can make loud noises. Wowsers. My great uncle yelled like Chewbakka. Nothing intelligible. Just a 100-decibel bray.

Strangly funny post and more strange the responses. charlesojo...your dad wasnt an outsted dictator with millions in a bank account somewhere or something was he? How many fingers am I holding up? A fellow diver and I went out for "a couple of beers" upon getting ashore after 5 or 6 days at sea... L___ had a wife who was deaf and he didn't have his TTY with him to call her...Several hours later we parted ways and went home..The next day at the dive locker I asked him if he got in trouble when he got home...His reply : "Are you kidding?,She screamed her Effin' hands off when I got in..." Really , if you are questionable about this you should get to know someone that is deaf from birth , a lot of them are really extraordinary individuals and are much more intelligent than some people that were born with this gift , much so that you really don't have to understand sign language to be able to understand them for they have an awful lot of Patience and are very adaptable. Go and be a big brother or sister and see what YOU can learn. hooks
