'A day of kindness"
'A day of kindness" Thanksgiving has a lots of history, there is and origin of how this day became. There were many from England that wanted to seek their religious freedom, and left England to find the New world. They came on the Mayflower in Sept 1620, they wanted to go elsewhere, but they came to Plymouth Harbor, the first settlement of Europeans in New England. (The Pilgrims). The Indians helped them out, by furs to keep them warm, crops so they can eat, and helped them farmed the land, and they taught them to survived in the winter. They also showed them how to use plants for medicine. But in the end the Pilgrims did them wrong. But even though the native was in the end was done wrong, but the kindness they gave was passed on, even for just one day. Thanksgiving is one of the few days of the year people have compassion! I seen some of the roughest people do a 180 degree for this one special day. People can sit down and break bread with their fellow man or woman, even if they hate each other guts. This day brings out the best in people! Even if the next day, people go back to who or what they are, but this day, people have joy in their heart. People who can't stand their family, go travel to be with them. Everyone know how valuable this day is! To some it's a day of feast, and relaxation. To some it's a day off from work to watch their football team play. To me, it's more than that! It's one of the most special day of any day of the year. It's a day that one race showed compassion, love, kindness to another race, without looking for anything to gain, but a friendship. Regardless of the outcome, I also value the act of kindness and admire the ones who give it! This day we should love for our fellow man or woman, we feed the hungry, even if it's just one day. we look after the one's, who not a fortunate as many. So it this day, is the day of the Turkey? It's so much more that that! It's "A day of kindness"! Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Thanksgiving riddles: What type of key do you use on Thanksgiving?
